Working in the interior design field for many years in Tampa, Florida, I was surrounded by beautiful fabrics all of the time.  After completing a project I would have many scraps or as I call them “rags” left over.  I felt that it was a shame to throw away such gorgeous fabrics.  With my design aesthetic, love of bags, and a crazy fabric addiction, I began to create what I think of as works of art.  I was inspired by depression era purses and bags.  There was very little waste in the world at that time.  All of my bags are made from remnants and scraps, so each bag is unique.  Rag bags are all  original and are hand sewn by me, in my studio. I adorn each bag with a variety of items such as:  vintage buttons, silk flowers, fringe, tassels, or a handmade trim that I designed.   I hope you enjoy these bags as much as I enjoy making them.

ETC is a collection of found object usable art, hand finished furniture, and cool curiosities. As Co-Artisans myself and Jane James work together to create pieces of art and interest. Jane's finishes are both appealing to the eye and the home!
